5 Luxury Bathroom Ideas

bathroom ideasHaving a great bath in your private paradise is a great place to prepare yourself for the day and a soothing oasis to unwind after a hectic day. You can also use as your personal sanctuary anytime of the day to get away and just relax. The bathroom has a long history, with ancients perceiving it as a ritualistic place to cleanse the body and soul. Furthermore, only royalty in ancient times was allowed the luxury of accessing private bathhouses, with the others only able to access community built bathhouses. However, the notion of the modern bathroom means that anyone has the capacity to design their bathrooms anyway they want, and are thus only limited to their tastes and imagination. Here are some fantastic luxury bathroom ideas.

Dramatic Colours
Gone are the days of white and beige bathroom designs. Nowadays, especially for people who are bold enough, dramatic colours seem to be their style of choice. Black for example, which would be unheard of when it comes to bathroom designs, seems to be the most popular choice. This is because black especially goes well with dramatic lighting conditions. Having a dramatic design keeps the bathroom from being boring. Even if a bathroom is small, you should not be afraid of using dramatic colours to make it lively. The idea here is to have a small space with big ideas.
Space Saving Designs
When it comes to the bathroom, space is premium. The bathroom may not be the most spacious room in a home, but a good design may make it look bigger. However, this does not mean that you should sacrifice on your style. Saving space will involve critically analysing the layout of the bathroom before making design choices. You should then consider where to place different bathroom accessories.
Use Skylight

Natural light from the sun can have psychological benefits. Furthermore, while it will save you on electricity, having a bathroom design that lets in sunlight is classy and has a great aesthetic impact. In addition, you may entirely decide to take your bathroom outside to fully embrace the natural light, if the place is private enough. Some of the designs may include a tempered glass enclosure.
Marbles and Stone Design
Marble and stone designs in your bath give it that contemporary and luxurious feel. While most marble and stone designs are for decorative purposes, they are also used as functional items. For example, if budget is not an issue, you can have your tub designed exclusively in a natural marble and stone design.
Timber
While tiles are the most preferred for floor and wall designs, timber is now emerging as an alternative luxurious design. Timber has the effect of enhancing the grandeur and graciousness of the bathroom. Furthermore, you can take this design further by adding timber design features in functional units such as benches, cladding and accessories among others.

Create something new – If parts of your home are not being used to their full potential we can adapt rooms to your liking – for instance, an unused bedroom, or downstairs cloakroom would make an ideal and distinct En-suite or wet room.

Old storage heating cupboard – Something simple such as making better use of an old storage heating cupboard is more than within our capability. We can replace doors, fit shelving and make it a useful integral part of the bathroom.

Bathroom electrics – Making use of modern lighting such as LED can tastefully change the ambience of a room, and again we can offer such capability and service. We are more than adept at upgrading the electrics, ventilation and even making use of PVC cladding which complements the tiling and results in being relatively maintenance free.

Conclusion

8 amazing tips you need to know for cleaning your bathroom

The bathroom is no longer the underrated afterthought it used to be. In many homes, a well-designed and stylishly appointed bathroom is a major point of pride. And why shouldn’t it be? It is the one room every member of the family – and any friends you may be entertaining in your home – will spend some time in eventually!

We at Bespoke Bathroom Solutions know you want your bathroom to be the luxurious refuge you dreamed of, and so we offer you these 8 amazing tips you need to know for cleaning your bathroom.

1. An Ounce of Prevention

A light daily cleaning will be more effective and less overwhelming than a deep cleaning every week or ten days. Take 5-10 minutes every day to spray your shower with cleaner and rinse it down, wipe around the sink and toilet, and quickly mop the floor. Antibacterial cleaning wipes are a quick and efficient way to get things done without having to haul out every cleaning supply in the house.

2. Eliminate Hard Water Stains

There is nothing more unattractive than a black ring in your toilet because of the mineral content in your water. Once a week, drop two denture cleaning tablets into the bowl, and swish with the toilet brush. The effect is miraculous!

3. Be Gentle

Keeping your bathroom sparkling doesn’t have to mean using harsh chemicals. Some people prefer to avoid bleach because of the harshness on their skin and the strong odour. We suggest a mild paste of baking soda and white vinegar to eliminate stains and clean grout between tiles.

4. Mildew

As mentioned above, cleaning grout is important. You can use the baking soda paste if you are especially sensitive to cleaning products, but we would recommend at least hydrogen peroxide, if not bleach. Grout is porous, and is a breeding ground for mildew and other bacteria. Mix one part bleach to ten parts water, and use a soft bristled brush to work into the grout. Re-seal grout annually.

5. Go With the Flow

Don’t put the vinegar away yet! Fill a medium freezer bag with it, and submerge your shower head into it, securing the bag with a rubber band. Obviously if your shower is detachable, you can you a small bucket. Let it sit overnight, then run the shower in the morning. This will help eliminate build up that reduces flow.

6. Breathe

The extractor fan in your bathroom collects a lot of moisture and bacteria, so don’t neglect it during the cleaning process. At least every 4-6 weeks, flip off the circuit breaker for the fan, remove the grate, and wipe down the blades and grate. When showering, keep the extractor fan at least an additional 30 minutes after the shower, or open a window. Increased air flow reduces humidity and eliminates the build up of airborne bacteria.

7. Don’t Put a Ring On It

Your bathtub is your refuge from the wild world outside, but bath products, and natural oil from skin leave a greasy, unattractive ring around the bath. Clean the bath immediately after using it, with hot water and a thick, mildly abrasive cleaning solution.

8. Down the Drain

Once a month, unclog your drains from the oil and hair that build up. Start with tweezers to pluck out anything that can be reached. Then use a hardware store product or that good old-fashioned soda and vinegar solution. Let stand 10 minutes, and then pour boiling water down to clear.

Keeping your beautiful bespoke bathroom clean and free of germs will allow it to remain a room you can be proud to show off.
