This Client was looking for a full refurbishment of a bathroom in a 17th Century Property. The brief was that the room should have a real unique wow factor using natural marble slabs on the walls and floor and should incorporate a feature niche and plenty of sparkle. As the walls of this room were not plumb or square it was essential to make sure that they were suitably prepared for the new wall finish. The room was fully stripped out and the wall plaster was removed back to sub-structure. The walls were then fully lined out plumb and square with external grade plywood incorporating voids for pipe-work, niche storage and concealed cistern frame. A metal frame ceiling was also built with a central recess to accept recessed lighting and a skimmed finish.
The new bathroom incorporated a bath of slightly reduced length, framed out for a marble bath panel. A walk in shower with a low level shower tray. A purpose built oak vanity unit with matching recessed mirrored storage above and a granite vanity top and conical vessel basin. A wall hung combined W.C & Bidet unit. The walls to the room were fully lined with Marble Slabs incorporating a arched niche cloaked with the Marble with glass shelves. Electric Thermostatic Controlled Under –Floor Heating & Granite tiles to the Floor. New low energy recessed LED lighting fitted with Dimmer Switch Control.
